the more traditional architecture and wooden interior imbue the lodge with rustic Swiss ‘cabane' charm yet this is anything but a conventional chalet. ancient feng shui principles and a hint of asia are harmoniously fused with modern design and contemporary and antique pieces. the property is a celebration of organic materials - wood, stone, metal, bamboo, hide, eel skin, wool, shell, rope - which invokes a dramatic multi-textural visual effect and wholesome atmosphere.

Things to do

a private chef will be onsite throughout your stay.

"you are what you eat". therefore cooking is nutritious, energizing, healthy and delicious. the private chef will prepare hearty breakfasts, teatime treats, evening feasts and irresistible petit fours to satisfy the hungriest of appetites. the chef embraces an Asian-fusion style, combining the japanese philosophy of letting good ingredients speak for themselves and classical french cooking techniques.

for lunch, guests are encouraged to experience the fine alpine cuisine on offer in the plethora of excellent mountain restaurants throughout the 4 valley region.... but if you would prefer lunch curled up in front of the roaring fire or a picnic under a fir tree in the forest, of course it will be accommodated!

an emphasis is placed on using the finest produce, and where possible using seasonal ingredients sourced from ethical and local suppliers. luckily, the valais canton in switzerland is famed for its array of exceptional dairy produce, cured meats, fruit trees, vineyards, and highly prized val d'herens beef.

please note, all meals can be adapted to any dietary requirement. children's and baby meals can also be prepared according to parent's wishes.

in order to ensure the most contented of stomachs, menus will be discussed with guests pre-holiday.

les 4 vallées is the largest ski domain in switzerland. It is comprised of 9 interlinked ski stations covering a massive 412kms of pisted slopes. combined with the incalculable local off-piste options which have received international acclaim, it is no wonder some argue that the 4 valley region is one of the most challenging and diverse ski territories in europe, if not the world.

les 4 vallées stretches from les masses in the east all the way to verbier to the west, the most famous and most populated of all the 9 ski stations. an advanced skier can leave the property and be having lunch in verbier within an hour and a half of departing and, in fact, can reach the top of the infamous mont fort faster than his verbier neighbours due to veysonnaz's convenient location.

veysonnaz is a relatively undiscovered ski destination by most of the world, the swiss have been training their world cup racers there for decades. the piste de l'ours is on the world cup race circuit and a thrilling descent for holidayers wishing to emulate didier cuche! although verbier holds the crown for the most glamorous of the 9 resorts, those in search of emptier pistes, fewer queues, yet equally dynamic backcountry runs, tend to head to the eastern end of the 4 valley map.

although the 4 valleys is notorious for its excellent and dynamic skiing, we know not everyone is in search of fresh tracks and white-knuckle freeriding every day! for those who would prefer non alpine skiing or boarding activities, you may like to consider some of the following snowy pastimes: snow-shoeing (raquettes), cross-country skiing, tobogganing, ice-climbing, or simply walking along the ancient bisses?

it's not only the skiers who can enjoy the traditional alpine cuisine on offer in the many delicious and charming mountain restaurants. due to property's convenient location near the base of the bubble lift, a mere 2 minute drive or 5 minute walk, it is easily possible for non-skiing guests to obtain a pedestrian ski pass and meet their fellow party members on the piste.

and if all that sounds like too much hard work, multiple terraces, front and rear gardens, equipped with outdoor sofas and sun loungers create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere to sunbathe, read, and relax with breathtaking scenery and mountain views. the spa facilities are always at hand and offer the non-skier a more leisurely and indulgent alternative to hitting the slopes.
